Are you ready to work in a society-sustaining operation?

To ensure all animals in Sweden have the conditions to live the best life possible, District Veterinarians (Distriktsveterinärerna) exist. With 24/7 readiness, clinics across the country, and unique expertise in animal health, we contribute to healthier animals and a safer life. As district veterinarians, we work on behalf of private individuals, companies, and authorities. We offer society-sustaining services for emergency animal care, disease control, and preventive measures for good animal health. Always with our feet on the ground and our hearts in the right place. District Veterinarians is part of the Swedish Board of Agriculture (Jordbruksverket).

Welcome to District Veterinarians Falköping!

We are a dedicated team currently consisting of 6 veterinarians, one veterinary nurse, and one animal caretaker (level 3), and we are now looking for an additional 1-2 veterinarians who want to become part of our group. Falköping is one of Sweden's most livestock-dense municipalities. Here, we work extensively with cattle, while also having a significant number of horses, sheep, and a growing number of small animal patients. The tasks are varied, ranging from acutely sick animals to investigations, preventive herd work, and equine dentistry. There are great opportunities to specialize more in farm animals, horses, or small animals. During on-call hours, we are prepared to offer both an initial assessment and emergency care for almost all animal species. We aim to offer our clients close and personal service and to be the first choice for anything related to animals.

With us, you will gain experienced and engaged colleagues who are happy to share their knowledge. We work in modern facilities that we moved into at the beginning of 2021. Our spacious clinic has access to digital X-ray, ultrasound, a lab, an operating room, and a dental room with gas anesthesia.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a veterinarian with us, you have the opportunity to work broadly and with variety across all animal species, while there is also room to develop within a specific species or area. We constantly strive for high quality in what we do, we learn from each other, and share our knowledge and experience. Everyone is equally important, and everyone contributes to making our workplace pleasant and forward-looking. We have 24/7 readiness year-round, which means that night and weekend work is part of the job.

Sometimes you work alone, but you are never alone. We are a large organization, and support and advice from experienced colleagues are just a phone call away. During evenings and nights, there is always a Chief on Call (CiB) and our emergency phone number 9900, where we have staff who receive calls from animal owners and coordinate contact with the current veterinarian. There is always a colleague to ask for advice, whether it is a Colleague on Call (KiB), at your own clinic, or at a nearby clinic.

We work continuously with competence development, and we see your professional growth as our best investment.

District Veterinarians has clear treatment guidelines that serve as good support in our clinical work. We also have a thoroughly developed hygiene policy for care hygiene that we believe is important to follow.
